Kindergarteners became FAST friends with Keith Haring. At first they were completely shocked by someone who would create art on some else's space WITHOUT their permission!
Together we had a great conversation about what we think makes art so good. The kinders agreed that art was even better when it was created in an appropriate place with permission.
So, with permission from Principal Perkins we created a graffiti mural next to Mr. Yoder's gym. We had to act fast and sneak; because, while we got the principals permission, Mr. Yoder didn't know! We loved giving him a surprise!
Individually, kid-artists honed their people drawing skills. We turned stick people into shape people. We even practiced our outlines & wiggle lines like Keith Haring!
Both artists love bright colors, black outlines, & wiggle lines!
