This is probably my favorite day with second grade kid-artists. After reading Laurence Anholt's beautiful story, "Van Gogh and the Sunflowers, we trek outside towing drawing supplies in hand.
Second graders see first hand the most important line in a landscape: the HORIZON LINE!
The Horizon line is where the earth and the sky meet.
Together we spend the final warm days of the season basking in the sun and drawing plein air. (That's the French term for "painting in the open air.")
